The Epoch · Residential tower
Older homes, honest answers.
Venice and the surrounding area carry a large share of South Sarasota County's older housing, much of it single-storey homes from the sixties through eighties. That means a lot of systems at or past end of life, and a lot of conversations about whether to repair or replace.
Where equipment is genuinely old, the honest answer is often not the profitable one. If a system has years left we will say so and keep maintaining it. When it truly is finished, replacement in an older house is an opportunity to fix duct and airflow problems that have annoyed the owner for a decade.
Venice was laid out as a planned city in the twenties and grew substantially through the post-war decades, which is why so much of the housing shares a vintage. Homes of that era were frequently retrofitted for central air rather than designed around it, and the ductwork usually tells you so.

Learn MoreWhat Makes Us Different
More than twenty Sarasota landmarks run on mechanical systems we installed from new. When we service one we already hold the design intent and the history.
We work alongside Sarasota's custom-home builders from design through commissioning, so the mechanical system is planned with the home rather than fitted into whatever space remains.
Engineered thoughtfully, installed carefully, supported long after. What the reviews keep describing: clean sites, clear explanations, straight answers.

Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with 24/7 service coverage. Existing maintenance-agreement customers receive priority when service demand is high.
Our office will explain the applicable diagnostic charge when the appointment is scheduled, before a technician is dispatched. After the diagnosis, you receive our findings, recommendations and supporting pictures so you can see what is happening before repair work begins.
Yes. If a system is past the point where repair makes financial sense we will say so and show you the arithmetic. It works the other way too: one reviewer had two other companies tell him to buy a new unit, and we replaced a part instead.
We have served Sarasota and the surrounding counties for fifteen years, across commercial construction, custom home construction, and residential service and maintenance.
Yes. Black Jack Air & Mechanical holds Florida license number 1816555. Florida requires contractors to display their certification number on advertising, and you should be suspicious of any contractor who does not.

Regularly. Custom-home builders and property-management companies make up a large share of our work. Builder Ryan Perrone wrote, "Blackjack Air consistently delivers for us, and their team is responsive, professional, and dependable."
